Zeena Parkins, pioneer of contemporary harp practice and performance, re-imagines the instrument as a “sound machine of limitless capacity.” Taking the harp into the realms of the avant garde, Ms. Parkins will play an improvised set on her unique one-of-a kind electric harp. This night she is unveiling a new set of processors and a custom-made hardware controller designed specifically for her instrument. The new controller consisting of ribbons, buttons, knobs, and switches will allow Parkins a much wider range of processing possibilities and control.
