Familiar and unfamiliar reed instrument concerts
This fall at SUSHI Contemporary Performance and Visual Arts, the musical adventure, Fresh Sound, a series of experimental, electronic, contemporary classical and improvised music, returns with a Roots and Reeds theme. Preceding each concert a brief talk by the musician will be given on the history (the roots) of their instrument and how it works (the reeds). Curated by Bonnie Wright who has been active in the contemporary music scene for 15 years presenting music and releasing CDs on Henceforth Records, the Fresh Sound Series performance tickets are $15 for non-members, $10 for members and students. All concerts take place Friday nights at 8 p.m.
